EVERGREEN ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS
Our staff has extensive experience in electrical safety, allowing us to thoroughly evaluate electrical systems and electrical training and quickly deliver comprehensive solutions. We perform detailed arc flash safety analyses to provide correct equipment warning labels required by code, and provide strategies to minimize energy available in an arc flash event. This decreases your risk and ensures your facility meets codes and standards regulating arc flash including OSHA Standards 29 (CFR) Part 1910, NFPA Standard 70 and NFPA 70E (NCE), and IEEE.1584.
Arc flash events can cost millions of dollars in medical expenses, equipment replacement and repair. We have the tools to quickly and easily evaluate alternatives and determine optimal electrical designs to prevent and reduce the level of arc flash hazard events. Our design can effectively lower fault levels, arcing time, arc incident energy and arc blast force, thus significantly reducing your risk.
Arc Flash Studies are used to estimate incident energy exposure from potential arc sources and to identify potential hazards under arc fault conditions. Our studies combine short circuit calculations, empirical equations and protective device operating times to estimate incident energy and then determine risk levels and protective clothing requirements at typical working distances. We provide warning labels communicating this information to personnel—warning labels on hazardous equipment ensures your facility will meet standards and regulations and provides a safer work environment for your employees.
ANALYSIS & LABELS
Field data gathering of electrical equipment and documentation—where necessary we can upgrade your single line diagrams to reflect the latest conditions of the power distribution system.
Analysis of field data and evaluation of the arc flash hazards using specialized software like ESA or EDSA—for each transformer, switchboard, motor control center, or panelboard, relevant arc flash data will be calculated. Arc fault magnitude, arc flash boundaries, incident energy and the category of personal protection equipment (PPE) required at each location is provided.
Provide a comprehensive Power Study that calculates the magnitude of fault currents, voltage drops and coordination of over current protection devices, in addition to identifying arc flash hazards.
Provide warning labels indicative of hazard levels and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required at all equipment locations.
